🏴 Argyle House NCEA Results 2022 👨‍🎓

Andy Thomson —

2022 marked another year impacted by the global pandemic. Life at Argyle House, however, carried on and our senior students were able to experience success once again in NCEA assessments.

As you can see from the image above, our boarders were able to achieve a pass rate of 92%, 96%, and 90% in Levels 1, 2, and 3 respectively. When we compare these results to those in the day school (where students were able to achieve 84%, 89%, and 80% at the three levels) it is pleasing to see that we are performing beyond even their high standards.

Our students, however, did not have as successful an attempt at getting an NCEA endorsement in 2022. For an NCEA certificate to be endorsed a student must gain 50 credits at either Merit or Excellence at the level of the certificate or above. At Level 1, 20% of our students received a Merit endorsement and 1% received Excellence. At Level 2, 30% of our students received a Merit endorsement and 1% received Excellence. However, the most notable statistic would be the performance of our Year 13 students, as 25% received a Merit endorsement and 14% received Excellence. While not perhaps at the standard that we set for ourselves, these are still an impressive set of results and I know that I speak for all of the Masters when I say that we will aim to support our students in a way that allows them to improve upon these.

If you have any questions about how your son is currently performing academically or even if you just require some simple clarification in relation to NCEA, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.
