Day of Silence

Matthew Lee —

The HBHS HEART Initiative leads the way in promoting safety and inclusivity for all at our school.

Wednesday the 16th of June was Day of Silence at HBHS.  The Day of Silence is a day where students around the world traditionally take a full day vow of silence that mimics the silencing effect homophobia has on queer youth.  At HBHS, the HEART Initiative used the day to spark a conversation around homophobia and hoped it helped students become more aware and educated around the issue.  Thank you to all the staff and students who participated in both the Tutor Group discussions and the group photo.
