In a tough battle in the B grade Secondary school final - it was up to HBHS 3rd XI or HBHS Colts to continue the hold on the B Grade hockey competition as both teams reached the finals.

With the closest results in round-robin favouring the 3rd XI by one goal, into the finals the teams went, with Old Boy Preston Sam coaching the 3rd XI and Ben Pilmore-Evans coaching the Colts side. Both teams traded opportunities before the 3rd XI opened the scoring in the first half. Going in with the small lead, the 3rd XI managed to score a second goal, then the Colts answered with a goal of their own. However, it wasn't enough as the match slowly came to an epic end with the "seniors" taking the win over their "junior" counterparts with a final score of 2-1.

I want to thank both Preston and Ben for the successful season and making it a three-peat for HBHS in holding on to the B grade Hockey Secondary Grade shield. Both sides featured great players and things look promising for the future of hockey at this school. On hand to present the shield to the winning captain, Jackson Bowcott, was Thomas Pilmore-Evans who was recently named in the Junior Black Sticks.
