House Swimming Sports 2022

Even though it was competitors only in the pool once again, records tumbled on Wednesday.

For the second year running, COVID-19 restrictions meant that our competitive swimmers had to compete in front of an empty bank.  However, that did not deter them from producing their best efforts, with five new records set on Wednesday the 16th of February.  Three of these were set by Year 9 student Orlando Hardie (Wilson House), in the Junior 100m Breastroke (1'01.96 mins), the Junior 100m Freestyle ('57.31 mins), and the Junior 200m Freestyle (2'07.89 mins).  Year 11 student Ethan Macdonald (Steel) set a new record in the Intermediate 100m Backstroke (1'01.96 mins), and the Steel House Senior Interhouse relay team set a new fastest time of 1'57.03 mins.  Once again, swimming power House Wilson took out the first House Competition event for the year, over second-placed Steel.  The full list of results is as below, and congratulations to our age group champions.  Thank you to Mr Rahiti Teokotai-White and his team on running a superb event in these ever-challenging times.
