Student of the Week: Ethan O'Donoghue (Term 2 Week 7)

Introducing our school's 'Student of the Week' for Term 2 Week 7, Ethan O'Donoghue.

Ethan is a Year 13 student at HBHS who, through his hard work last year, endorsed his NCEA Level 2 qualifications with Excellence.  This hard work has been recognised as he was named at the start of this year as an Academic Honours student.

Ethan is the Leader of his Tutor Group, KG.  In an excellent example of leadership, Ethan motivated and organised his Tutor Group to bring in 146 cans of food for our Leo Club's recent food drive.  This total was the highest amongst all Tutor Groups in our school.  His Tutor teacher, Mr Kilgour, has instilled in him a social conscience which Ethan credits for his love of service.

Outside of service and academics, Ethan is a keen and highly-skilled cricketer, having played for our school's 1st Xl for four years now.  This year, as a Year 13 student, he has been tasked with the challenge of captaining the school's premier team in the hopes of winning, amongst other competitions, the Gillette Cup.

When he's not playing cricket, Ethan plays for the school's Senior Platinum Football team, or the 'Plats' as they are more commonly known.  Ethan says his team aims to win the Division 2 Football title this season.

Thank you for your contributions within our school community, Ethan, and good luck for the rest of the year!
