HBHS Solo Piper Excels at The Dunedin Queen’s Birthday Competition

Following on from Rupert Nielsen gaining second place in the Bronze Medal Piobaireachd event at Hastings earlier this year, he has returned from Dunedin after winning the C grade Piobaireachd and the 6/8 March, second in the Strathspey & Reel, and fourth in the 2/4 March.

The Dunedin Queen’s Birthday competition is regarded as one of the elite events in the solo piping calendar with close to 30 competitors lining up for the C grade this year.  Rupert represented HBHS, proudly wearing the HBHS kilt and tie.
