Senior Gold Rugby team win all-important bragging rights

With a final scoreline of 25 - 22, the Senior Gold Rugby team humbly took the win over their biggest rivals, Senior Black, to have bragging rights, at least until next time.

On Thursday the 24th of June, the HBHS Senior Gold rugby team took on the HBHS Senior Black rugby team.  This was not just any game, this was a game between two teams playing for league standings and most important of all, for bragging rights around the school.  The game started off with both teams having high expectations and with tensions running high. The game opened up with an early try for Senior Gold which was a big wake-up call for Senior Black.  With a missed conversion the score was 5 - 0 within the first two minutes of the game.

Senior Black then came back hard with a try of their own tying the score up at 5 all.  The game momentum kept shifting back and forth with tries being scored left, right and centre.  The halftime whistle blew with the score at 18 - 15 to Senior Gold.

The second half kicked off with big hits happening all over the field. The sideline supporters went crazy as the game went on, with Senior Gold scoring another try with an incredible conversion.  The score was 25 - 15 with nine minutes to go.  Out of nowhere, Senior Black scored a try and successfully converted it.  With two minutes to play, the score was 25 - 22.

With forty seconds to go, Senior Gold won a penalty against the run of play and were quick to kick the ball out and win the game.  The final score was 25 - 22 to Senior Gold who got a narrow win over their biggest rivals and scored the all-important bragging rights until next time.
