HBHS 1st XI Football team take a draw in annual New Plymouth Boys' High School Sports Exchange

On the 10th of June HBHS hosted NPBHS in their annual Sports Exchange.

The HBHS 1st XI Football team faced off against Super 8 rivals NPBHS in the annual 2021 NPBHS Sports Exchange.  After losing 2 - 1 in extra time to them in the 2020 Super 8 final, the team was eager to get their revenge.  We came out of the gates firing, having the majority of the possession and creating many chances.  This hard work paid off as we took a 1 - 0 lead in the 26th minute through Dylan Williams.  However, a lapse in concentration off a set piece saw us concede just minutes later.  With the score 1 - 1 at half time we knew we had to come out hard.  Unfortunately, another set piece goal saw us go 2 - 1 down just 10 minutes after the restart.  With the HBHS supporters behind us, we dug deep and found ourselves level through a superb strike courtesy of Meshach Humby.  After a frantic last 15 minutes with both teams having chances, neither team could break the deadlock and the game finished at 2 - 2.
