From the Multicultural Manaaki Centre

The Hamilton Boys' High School MMC was set up to support our former refugee students. As well as academic and wellbeing support, we try to introduce our boys to as many new experiences as possible.

Recently we took some of our MMC boys out to the Lumsden Farm at Ohinewai. For most of them, it was their first farm experience and there was a mixture of excitement and apprehension. It was a wonderful day, in spite of the weather, and the boys had the opportunity to learn and gain new experiences. For some, it was a little frightening at first as they hadn't spent much time around dogs, cows or calves, but by the end of the day they didn't want to leave because they were having such fun. The tractor rides also proved to be very exciting. A big thanks to the Lumsden family, who are always such wonderful hosts.
