Waikato Under 16 Touch Team wins National Māori Under 17 Division Touch Championships 
Maxwell Kara (Year 9) was the co-captain of this team, scoring the winning try in the drop-off, in what was described as an “epic” final. Kiwa Rata (Year 11), also scored a try in the drop-off.
Maxwell co-captained the team with Riley Turner (Year 10) also from HBHS, at the Māori Touch Nationals on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December.
Kiwa Rata (Year 11) and Koewyn Kearins-Te Whare (Year 10) were the other two boarders from Argyle House in the team, with a total of nine students from HBHS in the team.
This was excellent preparation, as the Waikato Under 16 Touch team build towards their national tournament in February, 2023.
