North Island Club Rowing Results

Our HBHS Rowing Crews were in the medals at the recent North Island Club Championships.

Our HBHS Rowing crews have been working incredibly hard in order to enter the peak of their season in the best shape possible. Over the summer break they have engaged in various training camps and regattas with the North Island Club Championships the most recently completed regatta in Karapiro over the Auckland Anniversary Weekend. This is a regatta pitting our top rowers against both school boys and senior men from around the North Island. This year, we had a number of outstanding results. 

 Intermediate Eight:  Gold

Lachie Douglas, Rion Ormsby-Harris, Corben Campbell, Carl Murray, Josh Wasley, Thomas Pilmore-Evans, Thomas Priest, Jack Ramsey, and coxswain Hamish Douglas.

 Novice Octuple:  Bronze

Joel Singleton, Andrew Mitchell, Caleb Margan, Sam Kingdon, Jackson Alcock, Oscar Gaddes, George Palmer, Aaron Dingle, and coxswain Max Cook.

 Novice Octuple:  Gold

Maxwell Kara, Cash Filipo, Luke Nicol-Swindale, Rory Bourke, Mason Bowker, Connor Brownlee, Dillon Cable, Shakayden Pang, and coxswain Ryan Ollington.

 Novice Four:  Gold

Corben Campbell, Jack Ramsey, Josh Wasley, Rion Ormsby-Harris, and coxswain Ryan Ollington.

 Novice Eight:  Gold

Corben Campbell, Jack Ramsey, Josh Wasley, Rion Ormsby-Harris, Thomas Lander, Thomas Pilmore-Evans, Thomas Priest, Kayde Jones, and coxswain Ryan Ollington.

 Club Eight:  Gold

Jonty MacKintosh, Dylan McConnell, Ethan Steyn, Dylan Worthington, Zac Brownlee, Charlie Moon, Ben Parker, Wynston Roberts, and coxswain Cameron Natta.

Finally, our Senior Eight, who despite racing against men, with a very young crew, were able to come out with a well-earned Bronze medal.The following students were a part of this crew:

Jonty MacKintosh, Dylan McConnell, Ethan Steyn, Will Milne, Zac Brownlee, Zak Boonen, Ben Parker, Dylan Worthington, and coxswain Cameron Natta.

Congratulations to our rowers on a fantastic start to the season and a huge thanks to our rowing coaches and support staff, as well as our Director of Rowing, Mr Ross, for all of his efforts to keep us at the forefront of school boy rowing in New Zealand.
