If you have any children or know of any children turning 5 next year and are in our zone, please let the office know. We’d love to be able to plan for next year.

Term 4 Staff Changes

- Mrs Thatcher (Room 11): Mrs Thatcher will be starting her new job at the MoE at the start of Term 4. We wish her all the best!

- Ms Sally Parris (Room 11): Ms Sally Parris will be teaching Room 11. She has already done some relieving in Room 11, so this will be an easy transition for the children.

-Mrs Cheryl Bodie-Rouse(Puawai): will be full-time in Puawai in Term 4.

🌟 Student of the Week

Last week we presented Student of the Week to Lulu in Room 4.

Lulu is a cheerful and caring member of Room 4 who is always willing to help others. She often goes above and beyond to lend a helping hand, including helping Karen in the mornings with lost property. She tries her very best with all her learning and takes pride in her work. Lulu’s kind, helpful and positive nature makes her a wonderful role model for others.

🎉 Flava Festival

Now it is only one more sleep until the Flava Festival!!!!!

We wish our Nga Mokopuna o Hakatere group all the very best at Arowhenua Marae tomorrow.

Thank you to all the parent helpers, teachers and tutors who have made the commitment to getting them there. You will make us so very proud!

🥎 Hampstead Softball “Have a Go” Day — Reminder

This is on Sunday, 13th September:

- 1:00–2:00pm — Machine Pitch for 10, 11 and 12 year olds

- 2:00–3:00pm — for 13, 14 and 15 year olds

🏊 Swimming Next Week

The Year 5 and 6s will need their named togs and towels every day for swimming next week.

We had a very successful Teacher Only Day today.

Jason Tiatia came from the MoE in the morning to talk to us about everything Pasifika.

We look forward to reaching out to more of our community members to work together in the near future. If you have any skills you’d love to share, please email me or come in and have a chat to one of our team.

In the afternoon, Mrs Grieve and Miss Hensman led the Senior and Junior teams to talk about the Writing Curriculum. Thank you Mrs Grieve and Miss Hensman for all the mahi you put into these sessions.

Our Learning Assistants had Shaf from the MoE, who specialises in communication boards. The LAs had a refresher on how to use these. In the afternoon, some of them also joined in with the writing workshops.

📸 Photography Group

Last weekend we had a trip to Shearer’s Quarters and Caroline Bay to take photos for the Ashburton A&P show. Next Saturday we are off to the Rakaia Gorge.

The students’ photos are looking awesome, and at the end of the term, their best 10 will be printed out for the show.
