Newsletter Week 10, Term 2
This is our last newsletter for the term. Next term, we will trial having a fortnightly Newsletter on a Friday in even weeks of the term. School returns from the July holidays on Monday 25th July.
Covid-19 Update: We currently have four active cases of Covid-19 amongst our school staff and students. There is also many other winter ills and flu around. Please continue to let us know if your child tests positive for Covid-19. We continue to report our numbers to the Ministry of Education and this includes second or subsequent infections. Positive cases over the holidays can be texted to 0276311142.
EPro8 Team: Hampstead Bolts - Alex, Cohen, Jack, Lucas (and mascot Tony) spent the afternoon at Intermediate yesterday competing against other Year 5/6 teams from different schools in Mid Canterbury. We were very proud of how the team worked together and represented Hampstead School beautifully. The EPro8 Challenge requires teams to work together, communicate well and problem-solve their way through a challenge, all while remaining cool under time pressure.
Duffy Books: What a lovely treat for the last day of term. Every child has two new Duffy Books to take home and read over the holidays.
Staff changes: Miss Chyvana Wereta-Sherriff will be teaching in Rm 12 for 6 weeks while Miss Rose Peterson is on leave. Miss Sherriff will then get Rm 6 ready for our next start-up class as Room 1 grows. Mrs Claire Stevens will no longer be release teaching next term and we wish her all the best and thank her for all her hard work at Hampstead School over the many years she has been here.
