Kia Ora everyone. We have been enjoying learning about Matariki and we have been blessed with some beautiful clear night skies. We hope to see the stars out on Monday night for our special Matariki Celebration. Our local Hakatere Marae are having a Matariki celebration on Saturday (18th June) from 3-7pm. All Welcome.

Board of Trustees Update: As you are aware, our Board of Trustees Triennial elections are coming up in September.  Please consider making a nomination.  Being on the Board of Trustees is a great way to be involved in decision making to support our school to be the best it can be.  It can be very rewarding.  To find out more about what is involved, come along on Wednesday 22 June from 5.30pm and hear from our members.  We can answer any questions you may have. If you are unable to make it on Wednesday, but you'd still like to know more, get in touch with either myself, Miss Martin (Staff Trustee) or any of our Board of Trustees members. 

Staff and Disability Carpark: You will see this is starting to near completion.  We are hoping it will be ready for the start of Term 3.  As with many other projects, the progress has been slowed somewhat by weather, staff illness and supply issues.  We are looking forward to the difference it will make for congestion at drop-off and pick-up times.  

Student of the Week: This week we acknowledge James of Room 12 as he is kind, caring and a thoughtful student. He is always happy to help with classroom jobs. He has an excellent attitude to school and school life. James listens carefully to instructions and can follow these with growing independence. He always tries his very best in all that he does.  James is a Room 12 treasure.

Before School: A reminder that school is open to students from 8.30am each morning.  Hit Play run a before school programme from the hall for those who require childcare before this time.  For safety, we do not encourage students to be waiting unsupervised out on Wellington St. 

Meetings: Our next Board of Trustees meeting is on Wednesday 22 June at 6.30pm (following the Information evening at 5.30pm) in the Staffroom.  Our next PTA meeting is Tuesday 2 August at 6.30pm in the Staffroom. All Welcome
