Claudine Campbell —

Kia ora Hampstead School Whanau. We are now only a week away from our whole school production (show) and everyone is working hard to prepare for our two performances (11am and 6.30pm on Friday 12 September). You will have seen important information that came home on a yellow notice with the eldest from each family. We have copied and pasted this information down below for your reference. We look forward to seeing everyone shine on stage. Thank you for your support with this and please talk to your child's teacher if you have any questions.

Production Information – Important Details for Parents:

Thursday 11th September – Full Dress Rehearsal at the Ashburton Event Centre Theatre (211a Wills St, Ashburton)

  • Drop your child off at the theatre from 8:30am, but they must be there by 9:00am sharp.

  • Pick-up is at 3:00pm from the Events Centre.

  • Kai for Kids will provide morning tea and lunch – no need to bring food.

  • Children should not bring a bag, just a drink bottle.

  • Wear mufti (casual) clothes on both Thursday and Friday.

Friday 12th September – Show Day

  • Drop your child at school as usual. They will be taken to the theatre by bus.

  • Kai for Kids will provide morning tea and lunch – no need to bring food

  • Pick-up is at the theatre at 1:15pm so they can rest before the evening show.

  • Bring your child back to the theatre at 5:30pm for the evening show.

  • All children are in both shows, so it’s really important they all arrive on time.

After the rehearsal and shows it will become very congested in the foyer – so we thank you for your patience when waiting to collect your child. We will release the children in groups rather than all at once. Please leave the foyer promptly once you have your child, so we have room to send the next group down.

Senior Orienteering: Raymond came and took the Year 5/6 classes to an introductory course of orienteering this week.  Each class had 45 minutes to complete 3 courses around the school.  They were shown how to read the map of the school and were then sent to find all the clickers at the various stations around the school.  The children worked in pairs, and loved this opportunity.   There is an orienteering festival on in Christchurch on the 13th and 14th of September.  You need to register for this by Monday 8th of September. Enter here: https://entero.co.nz/evento.php?eventName=csof-2025

Thank you Hampstead School Community: We raised $813 for our local Cancer Society Mid CanterburyWe appreciate your generosity donating to this very worthy cause.

Student of the Week: Louise (Rom 2), you are such a kind and caring member of Room 2. You always work hard to complete your work to the best of your ability and consistently make sure it is of high standard. You are quick to lend a hand to anyone in our classroom who needs it and are always welcoming to everyone who enters our classroom. You should be so proud of all the fabulous new friendships you have made this year. We are so proud of you, Louise!
