Newsletter Week 6, Term 2, 2025
Talofa Lava! We hope you have enjoyed Samoan Language Week. We have appreciated learning some new language and learning about Samoan culture and Art. There are some beautiful photos attached at the bottom of this newsletter. Fa'afetai!
Reports & Learning Conferences: Midyear Reports containing progress updates on your child's reading, writing and mathematics as well as a general comment will be sent out via Hero on 27 June. There will also be a notification from Hero to book a learning conference with your child's teacher for the 16th and 17th of July. If these dates do not suit, you can arrange an alternative time with your child's teacher.
Canterbury Zone Cross Country: Congratulations to Chloe R who has qualified for the Canterbury zone Cross Country at Nga Puna Wai on 18th June. All the very best Chloe!
World Vision 40 Hour Challenge: We're doing the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge to provide kids with food for today, and a future for tomorrow.
In the Pacific region, 1 in 6 kids is living in severe food poverty. Together, we can change that. I'm raising funds to help families farm climate-smart crops and plant mangroves so they can feed their children in a changing climate.
Please donate now to help kids in the Pacific get enough food to grow up healthy and strong. 40 hours? Challenge acceptedhttps://fundraise.worldvision.org.nz/fundraisers/hampsteadschool
Golf: For the last 4 weeks we’ve had Matthew Davis from Ashburton Golf Club come and teach our 4-6 classes about grip, posture, stance and different angles of swinging.
Glow in the Park Photography: The photography students collected their cameras from school last Friday and made their way to the Glow-in-the park. While taking photos of lights is hard, they persevered and all managed to get some good shots!
Scooters & Bikes at school: We are finding a lot of scooters are the same brand and colour and occasionally children take the wrong one home. Please ensure all scooters and bikes are clearly named to prevent this happening.
Student of the Week: Emily (Rm 6), you are always so positive and try your absolute best with all your learning. Emily, you are kind, caring, polite and helpful towards your friends and kaiako.
