Newsletter: Week 4, Term 2
Friday 27 May 2022
PALs Training: On Thursday, Miss Gray took 20 of our Year 6 students to participate in the Physical Activity Leader (PAL) training at EA Networks Stadium. This was run by Mrs Jan Cochrane at Sport Canterbury for all schools in Mid Canterbury. We were very proud of how well our students actively participated on the day and we look forward to them sharing some of the games they learned with the rest of the school.
Matariki Night: Save the Date: Monday 20 June from 5pm to 7pm. The reappearance of the Matariki stars signals the beginning of the Māori New Year. We would like to celebrate Matariki this year by having a whanau event at school. Dress up warm (sparkly star theme optional), free sausage sizzle and hot chocolate, fun Matariki display and star gazing plus time to look around the classrooms and talk with teachers. There is an opportunity for you to have your say on what you would like to see included in your child's time at Hampstead School. More information to come.
Uniform Shop: The Second hand uniform shop at school will be closing this week, however you can still purchase and donate second hand school uniforms at the Red Cross shop at 187 Burnett St.
Student of the Week: Kesi of Room 16 is a student who is always polite and helpful. She has been giving new things a go this term and always tries her best. Kesi is a responsible member of Room 16 and a friend to all!
Yam Fundraiser: We were very kindly donated a whole lot of yams from Mr Ali Miller to sell as a school fundraiser. Our PALs leaders have been busy selling these today and there will be more available over the coming weeks. They are $5 for a 500g bag and all proceeds go to our school.
