Harewood School Uniform

Harewood School —

Uniform is a requirement at Harewood School.

Summer uniform is worn in Terms 1 and 4 and winter uniform in Term 2 and 3.

Girls

Winter:

* McKenzie tartan tunic or culottes

* Short or long sleeved royal blue school polo shirt, white or navy skivvy

* Royal blue school sweatshirt or navy sweatshirt cardigan or navy merino cardigan or navy merino 3/4 zip jersey (all with Harewood School logo).

* Royal blue track pants

* Royal blue school polar fleece

* Navy or white socks or navy tights

Summer:

* Dress —blue and white check gingham with white collar and cuffs with zip down the back (Please note the dress with zip down the front is unacceptable as part of our uniform)

* Culottes with royal blue polo shirt

* Royal blue school sweatshirt or navy sweatshirt cardigan or navy merino cardigan or navy merino 3/4 zip jersey (all with Harewood School logo). 

* Navy or white socks

* Blue wide brimmed or bucket style hat (compulsory term 1 and 4)

Boys

Winter: 

* Royal blue track pants or grey shorts

Short or long sleeved royal blue school polo shirt

Royal blue school sweatshirt or navy merino 3/4 zip jersey (all with Harewood School logo). 

* Royal blue school polar fleece

* Plain grey or plain short black socks

Summer:

* Grey shorts

* Royal blue school polo shirt

* Royal blue school sweatshirt or navy merino 3/4 zip jersey (all with Harewood School logo). 

* Plain grey or plain short black socks

* Blue wide brimmed or bucket style hat (compulsory term 1 and 4)


Senior pupils wear navy sports shorts for sport. The Warehouse Northlands stock navy knit shorts and Mainland Uniforms stock navy Airmesh shorts.

Sports jackets for Year 5/6 students are ordered through the office at the beginning of each year. These are unavailable in shops.

Royal Blue polyprop tops are available at The Warehouse if children wish to wear them under the polo shirt. No other coloured polyprop acceptable.

As children participate in daily physical activity comfortable and appropriate footwear is required. 

For safety and health reasons long hair and hair falling over face must be tied up or clipped back. Hair accessories should be in keeping with our uniform colours (navy, royal blue or white). Colourful bows, large bows or headbands are not acceptable.

Jewellery:

Watches and stud earrings are acceptable to wear at school. For the health and safety of all children we strongly recommend that bracelets, bangles, rings or necklaces not be worn as they can be a danger during PE, sport and in the playground.

Nail polish on fingers should not be worn.

Availability of uniforms:

Sunhats are available from the school office.

Mainland Uniforms -511 Wairakei Road - all items including short/long sleeved polo shirts, sweatshirt cardigan, merino cardigan or jersey

Susan Ross School Wear-69 Rutland St - all items except merino. Will make items to order if required.

Second- hand uniforms

A limited supply of second-hand uniforms may be available at school. Once a term a 2nd hand uniform sale is held. Please check the calendar on website for dates. 

Lost Property

Please ensure that your child does not bring valuables/toys to school. All items of clothing, including togs and towels during the swimming season, and lunch boxes and drink bottles must be clearly named. There is a box in the Resource Room for lost property.
