Emily Mercer is our new teacher starting soon at Harewood School.

Kia ora,

My name is Emily Mercer and I am joining the Harakeke team as the New Entrants teacher on the 5th of June until the end of the year.

Here is a little bit about me.

I am Christchurch born and bred, live close to the school and completed my teaching degree at the University of Canterbury in 2016. I have recently returned from some extensive overseas travel and prior to that I was relieving for most of 2017 at a number of schools in the North West area.

Having the opportunity to teach New Entrants is really exciting for me as I have gained a lot of experience working in the junior area through my time as a relief teacher and working as manager at My After School Headquarters.

Keeping active is very important to me and I spend a lot of my spare time outdoors competing in half marathons and swimming. Making time for my friends and family is also crucial for me.

I am very excited to be a part of the Harakeke team and look forward to meeting you all.
