Action Day at Harewood School by Lucia Young.
On the 16th of November the Year 5 and 6 had their Action Day. We only have action day once a year so it can be exciting.
My first activity of the day was the campfire where you cook damper and marshmallows. The fire was really hot in my face and the smokey smell was really strong. Then I went to the Native Garden. My group weeded and we went to the field and planted some trees. Then we went to the tents where we first put up the tent then took it down then some people put blindfolds on and the people that didn't have blindfolds on they told them where to go and what to do.
The next activity for my group was Hobo Stoves. We cooked pancakes on it. It was the Obstacle Course next. The first time I went round I was blindfolded. My buddy led me around. The second time I went round it was a three legged race. After the Obstacle Course I went to knots. We learnt how to tie different types of knots. The easiest one was the reef knot.
Thank you to all the parents that helped us on Action Day. It wouldn’t have been possible without parent help.
