Road Patrol
We have a dedicated team of students involved in operating our Kea crossing before and after school and wonderful parents who help supervise in the mornings.
There are a few things that would help make the road patrollers job easier:
· When road patrol is being set up we ask that you wait until this process has been completed before going across the road. It is difficult for students when parents cross in front of them while they are following the steps they have been taught. Each day they put out the signs numerous times however they only set up and come off patrol once a session and they need to concentrate more when doing this so please be patient.
· Please walk straight across the road in line with the yellow markers, not on an angle when crossing at the patrol.
· Stand back within the entrance way rather than on the footpath if you are talking with others so the patrollers are not distracted or think you are waiting to cross.
· Please be prompt coming out to cross the road after school.
· If you arrive to cross when the patrol is going off please wait until they are well clear of the footpath before crossing.
· Always cross Harewood Road at the crossing section, not further along the road.
