Welcome to Harewood School, Te Kura o Tāwera
Harewood School is a co-educational, primary school for Year 1-6 students located in North west Christchurch. Harewood School has a strong community feel and a wonderful, positive learning environment for our tamariki.
Founded in 1862, Harewood School has a proud history and a lovely semi-rural environment close to the airport and tucked safely away from the road.
Enrolment for tamariki from within our zone is guaranteed. Please contact the office to let us know your child's details.
The tamariki are given many opportunities and experiences to enhance learning and personal development. Our staff are caring with high expectations for learning and behaviour, our parents are supportive and our tamariki have positive attitudes to learning. Harewood School is a great place to be!
Harewood has a school roll which builds from 170 to 195 tamariki each year.
There are 8 classes from Year 1 (New Entrants) to Year 6.
Our tamariki have lots of opportunity to develop and extend their leadership and often go on to shine at intermediate school. From Harewood the tamariki go on to a range of intermediate schools, with most going to our local intermediate, Breens Intermediate.
