Awesome Year 6 Camp!
Our Year 6's enjoyed three wonderful days at camp in Wainui, participating enthusiastically in a range of activities.
Early Wednesday morning the year 6s went to Camp Wainui for three days. We had 5 parents come and Mrs Greenwood and Mr Campbell. We stayed at Wainui Heights in bunkrooms of 4.
We participated in a range of activities including archery where we were taught the parts of a bow and arrow and how to shoot them. We also got to have a few shots as well.
Low ropes is a big team challenge where there are lots of obstacles that the team has to get past.
We went kayaking in the sea. We were taught how to paddle, the parts of a kayak and we had a great paddle around the bay.
We went orienteering where we had to read a map and find signs hidden around camp.
The flying kiwi is when you are put into a harness and then are clipped to a rope and the rest of the team pulls you up and then slowly lower you down. The flying fox is when you have a harness on and get clipped to a rope and zoom above the ground.
The parents cooked delicious meals for us each night. Camp was very fun and we wish we could go again.
