Julie Greenwood —

Preparations are underway for 2019 and we have appointed another teacher to join the teaching team at Harewood.

For 2019 we will once again have 3 teaching teams with staff working closely together to meet the needs across the team.

Olivia Marshall and Emily Mercer won’t be returning to Harewood next year as they have other adventures and opportunities they are planning to pursue.

Here's an introduction Emma has written to the school community:

My name is Emma Beech, I am a Beginning Teacher after finishing my studies in 2017 at Waikato University. Prior to study, I had been working in Outdoor Education running and organising school camp programmes, with a focus on kayaking and high ropes. I have an enjoyment of travel and have been fortunate to see a lot of the world, most recently living and working in Antarctica at the New Zealand base, Scott Base for 5 months (you may have seen me in the AirNZ safety video). In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors - in the bush, on a mountain or near the sea. I have one cat called Chardonnay.

I am currently living and teaching in the North Island but I am really excited to be moving and joining the wonderful team next year at Harewood Primary in sunny Christchurch. I have a passion for teaching and learning and I look forward to meeting you all.
