NYLD
On 30th of May 2019, 8 year 6’s went to NYLD - National Young Leaders Day.
There were many inspirational speakers whose speeches all related to the days slogan:
He aha te kai a te rangatira? He kōrero he kōrero he kōrero, which translates to - What is the food of a leader? It is conversations.
The speakers names were: Ronnie Taulafo (What Now presenter), Dr Lehan Stemmet, Kings (NZ male singer), Sala Tiatia (Survivor New Zealand contestant), and Christian Gallen (a NZ comedian who also works for Attitude).
The hosts were Phil Baker and Liz Alexander. Lucy Grey is only 12 but has already organised a strike for global warming. She performed a song about the environment and how we need to help it by stopping pollution.
At the end of the day Kings did a small but awesome performance.
It was an extremely good day and we learnt alot about leadership.
If you need to know some stuff come to Felix, Angelo, Josh, Stella, Isla, Arielle, Clover and Emily.
Overall, it was such a inspirational, fun and cool day.
