Our new school logo has been designed to incorporate aspects of our school that are important to us. Our new vision statement, "Confident, connected and shining brightly" encompasses consultation with ākonga, whānau, and staff and provides a direction for what we are working hard to achieve.

The tree, that has been an important symbol for our school, takes centre stage in the logo, the shades of green represent our natural environment. Our Māori name Te Kura o Tāwera, (Tāwera means morning star) is an important part of the logo graphic. The five points on the star symbolises our five school values.

When sharing the original drafts of the logo our students pointed out the heart shape from the koru patterns in the whetū (star) which they commented signified the care and support in our school community.

You will start to see the logo on communications and in time on signage and through into our uniform, however this is very much still a work in progress. We are considering the feedback we have had from our community first as part of the uniform review process. In regards to any uniform changes, a number of parents have asked and I have reassured them, this would be phased in over a period of time - a number of years.
