Parent Help

Harewood SchoolMarch 12, 2025

There are many opportunities for parents to help with school activities including trips, sports, PMP and in the classroom.

We encourage parent help across the school. The class kaiako will let you know when they would like help through the class letter each term.

It is important to note that parents helping in the school and on trips must follow the directions of the kaiako and maintain confidentiality, including not taking photographs. Please see our School Docs policies on Parent Involvement and Social Media Guidelines and Community Conduct attached. A volunteer agreement needs to be signed by anyone who wishes to help in the classroom or on a trip. These are signed when your child starts school.

Please sign in using Vistab at the office when working in classrooms.

Shelving reading books is another job that we appreciate parents doing if they have spare time. Please see the junior kaiako and they will show you what to do.

From time to time we hold working bees at the weekend to help with a general tidy up of the school grounds when needed. This is advertised through the school newsletter.
