James Griggs —

Tena koutou katoa

Our assembly this week was full of awards and recognition.   Koru Games medals, speech competition winners, ICAS achievement and so much more.  This is reflection on the busy nature of Term 3 and we start this term with the news that one of our Future Problem solving teams has qualified for the National competition in Auckland.  After much scrambling to arrange flights,  Mrs Green has our team of four heading up to challenge themselves against the best and we wish them well.   Thanks so much to Papanui Rotary for providing some financial support for these students at short notice.

This week our students were also front and centre at the Music Festival with our singers (and thousands of others) supported by an awesome supporting act consisting of none other than the Heaton Kapa Haka group. Thanks to Mrs Jacobs for pulling this together.

Our strategic plan consultation survey is now closed. However there is still time to submit your thoughts by arranging a 1-1 session with one of our leadership team.   Contact eo@heaton.school.nz if you would like to set a time.

Our enrolment process for 2025 is complete and we will be starting to form classes for 2025 in the coming weeks. We have an extensive waiting list and at this stage it is highly unlikely we will be able to take any students from it.  Enrolments for in zone students will of course always be accepted so if you do know of any In Zone students who have yet to enrol, please encourage them to do so asap to make sure they do not miss out on crucial information.

Please note 14th November school will be closed for instruction for one of the Ministry allocated mandatory teacher only days.  This leads into the long weekend for Show day.
