New Option to Contact Counsellor

Kelsey Knipshild —

Kia ora e te whānau,

At the beginning of the school year, I visited each class to review how students can access counselling.

The three options have been:

- Students talk to their teachers

- Students asking parents to send an email

- Emailing me directly at the email address below.

There is now a fourth option for students to access counselling, through a form on our website.

If you go to the Heaton homepage, and scroll over to the “Heaton Hub” option, the fourth option down is “Counselling.” There’s a brief description of the counselling service provided, and towards the bottom, there is a link titled “Contact Counsellor.”

A link to the page is here: https://www.heaton.school.nz/counselling/

This takes you to a google form, that is sent to the Heaton counsellor.

Students, teachers and parents can complete this form. This asks for the name of the person completing the form, the student’s name and room number, and any other information that would be good to know. This is one more option to hopefully provide each student with the support they need.

There are updated posters outlining these options in each classroom.

Ngā mihi nui and have a good day.
