Brad Mooar Visits Heaton

Joan Green —

Crusader Assistant Coach, Brad Mooar, speaks at assembly and brings the super rugby trophy. By Matthew, Room 5

On the 14th of August we had assembly, but not just any assembly! We had a special guest. Brad Mooar, the assistant coach of the Crusaders came in just after their fabulous win in the super rugby final. Brad was great with all the kids when he spoke. He talked about what the Crusaders did in the build up to the final.

One thing in particular he spoke about was really great. In the Crusaders' squad they have people called ‘the stars.’ He said, although they might not play in the final, they shine bright behind the clouds and are a huge part of the team. If they don’t do their job well, the team out on the field won’t.

Everyone really enjoyed hearing what Brad had to say. I even got to lift the trophy and it was not light. Brad said it was about 30kg so it confused me how they lift it above their heads so easily, especially if it has some liquid (beer) in it. Students loved having Brad Mooar at assembly and were grateful to have him visit our school.
