Dan Brown, best known as the author of The Da Vinci Code, has recently published his first children’s book, Wild Symphony which features beautifully-illustrated poems about lovable animal characters with accompanying signature tunes.

These tunes have been expanded into a 50-minute musical adventure which the Risingholme Orchestra has been selected by the publishers to present at the New Zealand premiere in Christchurch on Sunday 11 April at 2pm and 4pm at The Piano, 156 Armagh Street Christchurch.

2021 Kiwibots VEX Robotics Competition National Championships - South Island Edition

Love BattleBots and all things STEM? Ever heard of competitive robotics in New Zealand? Did you know that Kiwi kids have won a top award in the USA at the VEX World Championships for 10 out of the last 11 years!

The 2021 Kiwibots VEX Robotics National Championships series will start this Saturday 20th March at Christchurch Boys’ High School from 9am. This FREE event is open to the public and we encourage you to join us in watching teams across NZ go head to head to compete for title as NZ Champion.

This family friendly event has something for everybody - from 5 to 85 years young. As well as watching the competition, visit our mini-STEM Expo with hands on activities for primary aged children. They can try out Bee Bots with Digital Future Aotearoa, dismantle a laptop with Recycle A Device, check out Imagination Station, and build and drive VEX robots. This will be a fun day out for all ages, and something for everyone to get their hands on!

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone curious about robotics either in a recreational setting or a possible career path, to take a look, get hands-on and explore the possibilities! Come on down – entry is free and there'll be plenty to keep you entertained!
