Strike Percussion perform to mark the end of New Zealand Music Month

On the 31st of May, Hannah, Katie and Jason from Strike Percussion came to our school and performed for the Year 7 and 8 students in the PAC to celebrate the end of New Zealand Music Month.

Their music could be described as a combination of movement and percussion. It was an inspiring performance full with a variety of loud and unique sounds. Some students and teachers were invited to perform with the group on stage.

According to the members of the group, they stared music because they loved it and felt their best when they were doing it. Hannah said that music was a family tradition of hers and she wanted to follow in her family’s footsteps. Along the way she found out that music was her passion.

Hannah and Katie explained that they always wanted to be musicians. However, Jason originally wanted to be an electrician like his Dad but when he was 17, he realised that his dream was music.

Strike Percussion are a New Zealand group based in Wellington that travels  the world with their music.
