Office @ Heaton —

Walter, Room 12 has been selected to represent Canterbury in Nelson for athletics.  Athletes are selected on their personal bests throughout a whole athletic season.

Lauren, Room 8 has been selected by Gymsport NZ to represent New Zealand in Trampoline at the Australian Gymnastic Championships in Melbourne in May 2018. Lauren recently competed in Rotorua and the Canterbury Super Bounce Trampoline Championships, placing 1st in the Women's Youth International grade at both and achieved well above the international qualification score needed to be considered for the NZ team.

Izzi, Room 2

Earlier this month I competed in the 12 year old Canterbury Athletics Champs. This was an event where all Canterbury athletes came together to compete and gather up as many points as possible.

I achieved 19 points and competed in 8 events throughout the weekend. I made the semi-finals for 200m and 100m and finals for the discus, shot-put and high jump. I also recorded personal bests for long jump, 400m and 100m.

My overall placing in Canterbury were 1st in shot put, 3rd in high jump and 5th in discus.

As a result of my achievements, I made it into the top eleven, 12 year old girls in Canterbury, which means I get to go and compete in the inter-provincials in New Plymouth at the end of March. I will be competing in four events - shot put, high jump, discus and 200m.
