Room 10 recently marked the conclusion of their frisbee golf PE unit with a trip to play on a proper course!

'Higher, Further and Faster' - words synonymous with a Captain Marvel comic book that could easily describe Room 10's recent trip to the Jellie Park frisbee golf course.

What is frisbee golf? Well, it's basically golf but played with a frisbee. The objective of this global game is to throw your frisbee into a designated target within the recommended number of attempts. Players need to do this whilst avoiding obstacles such as trees, rivers, people and other flying frisbees!

The class had been learning about different frisbee throwing techniques such as the forehand, backhand and 'hammer' throws.  Using various landmarks around the school, they slowly perfected the art of aiming a frisbee at a target.

In between retrieving their frisbees from trees, hedges and rivers, the students also pushed play by doing lots of walking and running. It was also good to see so many parents tagging along and giving the sport a try. A special thank you to the parents who helped us out with transport on the day.
