The Heaton Kapa Haka performed their way to success on Friday in Week 9 Term 3 at the kapa haka competition, Tūhono. We won two trophies for our waiata-ā-ringa (action song) and our haka. Even though we won two of the three categories, we sadly did not win the overall trophy.

Nevertheless, everyone has worked hard over the past year and this helped us forge our path to success. My highlight of Tūhono was on stage when everyone was working together to win and bring home trophies.

I am very proud of everyone for their hard work and commitment they have shown this year, and I have faith that the upcoming Kapa Haka group will win next year’s trophies with pride.
