Fun, friendship and fabulous results at the 2020 CAIMS Invitational Tournament

We are extremely impressed with the efforts, attitudes and sportsmanship of all Heaton athletes who took part in the 2020 Canterbury AIMS Invitational Tournament. 

This Invitational tournament was an addition to our sports calendar this year, due to the many cancelled events and disjointed sports season resulting from Covid-19 restrictions. It was a huge undertaking for our whole school community, due to the participation numbers and number of venues. I would personally like to recognise the amazing efforts of our dedicated Heaton staff, and all of our parent/caregiver/family volunteers. Thank you for the commitment and passion you have modelled, and for creating these opportunities for our Tamariki. All of the students who took part made exceptional improvements and created very special memories with their peers.

• Girls A Grade 11-a-side hockey: 1st
• Mixed A Grade 11-a-side hockey: 2nd
• Boys A Grade Basketball: 3rd
• Girls B Grade Basketball: 2nd
• Boys A Grade Football: 2nd
• Badminton: 2nd (Heaton Gold)
• Netball A Grade: 2nd
• Rugby 7’s A Grade: 2nd
• Table Tennis A Grade: 2nd (Heaton Green)
• Squash: Fair Play Award
