Pink Shirt Day

Craig Robinson —

Heaton goes pink in support of national anti-bullying campaign.

On Friday the 26th of May we had our second Pink Shirt Day at Heaton Normal Intermediate School. Students came to school dressed in pink to show their support against bullying.

Pink Shirt Day is about working together to stop bullying.  It’s about creating a community where all people feel safe, valued and respected, regardless of age, gender identity, ability, or cultural background. The children at Heaton where amazing, kids painted shirts and put on pink funny costumes and by lunch time the runway vibe was lit. Each class had their finalists for the fashion parade which was held in the hall. Pink Shirt Day was a huge success.

Thank you very much to Vicky Edwards-Brown from Bethechangenz and our students, Neeve and Lexi for all their organisation and support.
