Christchurch writers and artists will have the opportunity to work alongside award-winning author Maria Gill in Write Like an Author and award-winning illustrator Fifi Colston in Draw Like an Artist to develop their writing and art skills. The programmes will be held at St Margaret’s College over the second week of the school holidays. The 3-day writing and illustration camps run from Monday 5 October to Wednesday 7 October and are suitable for students aged from 10 to 14. Younger students from 8-10 years can join the camp on Monday 5 October. Students will learn important skills and have lots of fun with the story sport games and illustration competitions. Love Tennis - Waimairi Tennis Club Open Days - Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 1 to 4pm.

Love Tennis is a great opportunity to give tennis a go and/or see what your local club offers. Waimairi is throwing the courts open to all who would like to join in. Everyone is welcome, whether it be to have a hit, a short coaching session, Face the Serve, admire the purple courts, or just have a sausage! Racquets and balls are on hand, there is a free sausage sizzle, and Hell Pizza vouchers to be given away. Coaches and members will be there to guide you to activities and answer any questions.

St Albans Tennis Club Open Day 12th Sept 12pm

The club is taking registrations for junior coaching on 12th Sept. Meet
our new coach Nic Jenkins, who will be happy to discuss all coaching
options. With great anticipation, SATC is affiliating with Canterbury
Tennis this year and will be offering interclub competition. Trials for
interclub will be on 29th August 12pm for those interested in
registering and forming a team.

GIRLS CRICKET – One of the fastest growing sports

Parents – consider your daughter playing cricket this season in an all girls grade this summer. Saint Albans Cricket Club has all girls teams in the following grades:

Girls Year 2/3/4 : Mini Introduction cricket

Girls Year 5/6 : played Saturday morning 9-11am

Girls Year 7/8 : played Saturday morning 9-1130am.

It’s QUICK –games last between 1- 2.5 hours
It’s FUN – the girls play in an all girls grade and everyone gets a chance to bat and bowl every game
It’s CHEAP – no expensive gear needed – the club supplies it all including shirts and caps.

COVID – If you have lost your job due to Covid – we are offering some free places in cases of genuine hardship or half priced subs.

Our season starts in October and we are now taking registrations for junior girls in years 2-8.

Why saints ? We are the only club in the South Island with 2 NZ White Ferns, we have top Canterbury and NZ level women coaches, and we are 100% focused on growing the number of girls playing cricket for fun or competitively.

QEII Swim Club - Are you a swimmer?  Do you want to take your swimming to the next level and take part in competitions?  Do you want to join an awesome club and learn from a team of outstanding coaches? CFC Junior Touch Registrations Are Open!

We are delighted to be able to offer all school kids up to U14 Age grade the opportunity to play touch for the best Club in town!

We participate in the MacFarlane Park Touch Module, which takes place on a Wednesday afternoon, with training usually before the game. This is a great non-contact game which really helps to build those team building and ball skills, but most importantly, it’s heaps of fun!

Season starts: Wednesday 21 October 2020

Last game before the Christmas break: Wednesday 9 December

Season will recommence: Wednesday 10 February 2020

Season Finish: Wednesday 24 March (15 weeks in total).

We can find a team for boys and girls from Ages 4/5 to our U14 Grade and it really doesn’t matter if your new to the game or have some experience. With family friendly subs of $60 per single player or $110 for a family registration (two or more players residing at the same address.
