Resilience Lecture

Office @ Heaton —

On the first Thursday of term one, Dr Lucy Hone, from the NZ Institute of Wellbeing and Resilience will be speaking on coping with life challenges. Some tickets are still available.

Lucy says of her work, “Most of all I want my messages to be practical and real. Sadly, we are all touched by adversity at some stage and it has become my mission to help people cope with change and loss, by providing them with evidence-based practical strategies allowing them to exert what control they can, where they can”Testimonial for Lucy's talks:

“When her beloved daughter Abi was killed in a car accident, academic Lucy Hone faced an ocean of pain the only way she knew – by delving into research about grief psychology. What she found gave her hope as well as tools for getting through the darkest days of grief” Sunday Star Times

“One of the best speakers I have listened to. Heart felt, and practical as well as very professional” CANZ Conference

“Lucy Hone is such an inspiration, how she deals with her grief is just incredible. What a strong woman” Toni Street

“Lucy spoke at Emergency Management Southland’s community forum in October. Her talk on coping with loss and suggesting practical strategies for dealing with loss and change in our lives was inspiring. Personal resilience is essential for those involved in emergency work and everybody who attended took away some great ideas and we have had really positive feedback. Lucy herself was easy to work with and professional and I look forward to inviting her back to Southland for next year’s South Island Civil Defence conference” Emergency Management Southland

“Amazed and humbled by Lucy Hone – what a gift she is giving in sharing her grief” TVNZ Sunday
