Language Club

Catherine Mundy —

Have you ever wondered about learning a new language? If so, come join us at the ESOL room every Wednesday at lunchtime. Language club allows you to open up and be able to connect with a range of languages and cultures. You learn so much from different cultures.

Language club helps to boost your confidence in many other languages and expands your vocabulary. It offers students the chance to share their language with others keen to learn from around the school.

Knowing even just a little bit about another language/culture can help with your understanding of it. You may even find many new facts about your language or even a different language that you had no idea about!

Learning a new language pushes your brain to get familiar with new grammar and vocabulary rules. It allows you to train your memory to remember new words and make connections between them. As a child it is easier to learn new skills and expand your knowledge.

Language club is also about having fun! Sometimes you get to try new food or learn how to make traditional cultural things. Recently we learnt how to make delicious Chinese Dumplings with Anna and tried lovely Mango Lasse with Hithesh.

So why don’t you come along to Language club?

"One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way." Frank Smith
