The best gift is the one that you give.

Fiona Taylor —

As Christmas approaches many of us are thinking about what we would like to be given. Unfortunately, as we are all aware, not everyone will be celebrating this holiday. So rather than thinking about what you want on your list, think about what you can give this holiday.

Every year the art Elves and the Student Council organise a number of events.

On Friday December 8th we will have a dress up day. The day is to show our gratitude for what we have and celebrate with the people around us.  So, adorn yourself with your finest jingle and bells and bring a gold coin for Youth Hub. This is an amazing facility being set up by Dame Sue Bagshaw. 'The Youth Hub creates a safe haven for young people needing support between 10 and 25 years of age. It is a collaboration of co-located services that gives opportunity for young people to grow in an environment of encouragement and positive social engagement.'

Please consider the environment when dressing up. There will be spot prizes for costumes made from recycled or repurposed materials.

The art elves and the Student Council will also be collecting for the Christchurch City Mission Food Bank. Please be generous and help bring some edible festive cheer to those struggling this year.
