Emily, Room 21, number 1 Axolotl fan.

Emily must be Heaton's number one Axolotl fan. She has used Frida, the Art Room Axolotl as inspiration for drawing, painting, woodcut, needle felting, Fimo models, clay and most recently her first gif.

"I first became intrigued by Frida when she was in her mini tank while the main tank was being cleaned. I had never seen her clearly before. She was different and cool."    Emily

Whilst there are many axolotls in captivity, due to their special interest for zoologists, they are very rare in the wild and are now on the endangered species list.
