Term 4 Girls' Cricket Festival

Emily Caygill —

Last week, on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd November, twenty Heaton girls played two days of cracking cricket at Hagley Park, playing two 20/20 matches on each day.

The girls put in a great effort across both days, playing with focus and determination throughout the windy heat.

A highlight was the final Heaton vs Heaton game that came down to the last over in a ball-by-ball nail-biter. It was also wonderful to see how supportive the more experienced players were of those at the beginning of their cricket journey. Throughout all matches, coaching from within the teams was abundant and came with plenty of encouragement and praise for the newer players.

Once again, our school has been very lucky to have Coach Barry’s continued support and we would like to recognise and thank him for all of his continued hard work.
