This competition is open to anyone at school. Start taking your photos at school this term or work on this over the holidays.

Points will be awarded to each entry for the Heaton Rhodes Shield.

One entry per person. Extra points will be awarded to images for technique, composition, use of light, narrative and inspirational quality.

Images should be sent to Mrs Taylor at taylorf@heaton.school.nz in JPEG format and must be of a high resolution, minimum 1 Megabite, or bring the image on a stick/pen-drive.

Photographs need to sent in by the end of week 1 Term 4.

Entries MUST include your full name, Year, House and Room Number.

All photographs will go on display in term 4 and winning images will be printed on large canvases.

There will prizes for the overall winners in each Year group.

Theme: New beginnings - Timatanga Hou.

There are many new beginnings in our own lives as we emerge from Covid and our environment continues to be rebuilt and replanted e.g. new builds at school and in Christchurch, replanting the Red Zone, planting trees and we now have a new Head of State. Perhaps you are new to New Zealand and this is a new life for you or you may be anticipating your transition to High School if you are a Year 8.
