Year 8 Ski Trip
Our Year 8 students had their recent ski trip on August 16. Despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions, the day was filled with excitement, learning, and camaraderie.
Weather and Conditions: While we had hoped for clear skies and optimal skiing conditions, Mother Nature had different plans for us. The weather on the day of the trip was overcast, snowy, and had very low visibility. Despite this, our students showed remarkable resilience and enthusiasm throughout the day.
Activities and Lessons: The day began with ski lessons for all students. Mt Hutt instructors provided guidance and support, helping our skiers and snowboarders improve their skills and build confidence on the slopes.
Exploration and Adventure: After the lessons, the students enjoyed a well-deserved lunch break, reenergizing for the rest of the day. Following lunch, the students had the chance to explore the slopes with their friends. It was heartening to see them come together, building mini jumps on the beginner slopes and having a blast despite the challenging weather.
Positive Attitudes: We are immensely proud of how our students conducted themselves throughout the day. Their positive attitudes, determination, and ability to make the best of the less-than-ideal weather conditions show their resilience and maturity.
Acknowledgments: We want to thank the Mt Hutt instructors and our parent helpers for their hard work in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our students throughout the day.
