Christchurch Girls’ High School enrolments for Year 9, 2018.  Firstly, our home zone has been increased to match that of Christchurch Boys’ High School, this takes effect from January 2018. Details are on our website here http://www.cghs.school.nz/enrolment/enrolment-scheme-and-home-zone/.

If any girls wish to make and application for 2018, they need to complete an ‘Application for Admission to CGHS’ form, either by downloading one from our website www.cghs.school.nz or by collecting the prospectus from the school office.

Out of zone applications close 4pm, 28 July 2017, and our ballot will be held on 2 August 2017. Results are communicated to families on 3August 2017. Students entered in any ballot are drawn randomly – no accompanying letters or testimonials are needed. It is usual for us to have capacity for out of zone siblings or daughters of old girls and there is a place to note this on page 2 of the application form.

For planning processes, we would appreciate in-zone applications by the same date, 28 July 2017.

Animates has the perfect activity to help keep the children entertained and informed.  Your local store will be hosting free workshops at 11am on Thursday 13 & 20 July. The sessions will introduce children to the skills they need to be a nurturing pet owner. This school holidays the focus will be on teaching children on the essentials on caring for fish or reptiles including how much to feed them, how to decorate and maintain their housing and the signs of a happy and healthy pet!  Answering all of those scaly questions such as “Do fish sleep?”, “How do I hold a lizard?”, the workshops will include interactive activities - face painting, activity booklets and a colouring-in competition.  There will also be the opportunity to ask the in-store experts for advice, and children who complete the workshop will take home a certificate at the end to proudly display on their wall or fridge.  Although bookings aren’t necessary, the events are usually well attended so it’s advisable to arrive early.
