Students who were finalists in the SCAPE public art competition will have their work in an exhibition at Tūranga, Central Library.


Re:ACTIVATE Finalists Exhibition

Saturday 13 October – Sunday 18 November
Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 8:00pm and Saturday – Sunday, 10:00am – 5:00pm
Location: Tūranga, Central Library, 60 Cathedral Square

View the innovative design ideas submitted by junior and senior school students for the Re:ACTIVATE Aspiring Artists Exhibition. It is a proud moment for many of the young artist entrants having their work displayed for the first time. Come along to view these visions of the next generation and support their artistic ambitions. From the submissions on display, the three winners have been produced as large-scale public artworks and are on display throughout the Season 2018 in Hagley Park. Exhibition showing daily during the Season 2018. 

Emily - Room 18, Issie - Room 18 , Alfie - Room 4, Thomas - Room 2, Kohen - Room 4, Will - Room 3, Ben - Room 2, Elle-Roze - Room 18 and Mikayla - Room19 will all have their work on show.

Several students also contributed to one of the winning artworks , the steel Kakahu. Emily room 18, Issie room 18, Bella room 4 and Oliver room 4

Unveiling the three new public artworks by the winners of SCAPE’s Re:ACTIVATE Junior and Senior Aspiring Artists competition for students under the age of 18. Meet the next generation of artists and the team who made these dreams and concepts a reality. It’s a proud moment for these young artists having their work produced and displayed for the first time – it’s free and everyone is welcome to come and celebrate with us. The artworks will be on display throughout the six-week SCAPE Season 2018.

The finalists’ ideas are also on display as part of the Re:ACTIVATE Finalists’ Exhibition in Tūranga, Central Library. Exhibition showing daily throughout the Season 2018.
