Foreword – Volume Two, Issue One

Welcome to the second issue of Hauora Research.

Kia ora koutou,

As the framework for Te Pūkenga develops and we build an understanding of how we might work together in the future, it is exciting to bring together research from across the network in the second issue of Hauora Research

I encourage you all to take time to read about the inspirational research by our colleagues, and to use this as a catalyst to grow research collaborations across Te Pūkenga network. This is also an opportunity to share our research with industry stakeholders and community groups to strengthen these important links.

In this issue, we are yet again delighted to include eight exceptional contributions to health and wellbeing in Aotearoa.

We feature Dr Andre McLaclan's research into traditional Māori pathways of wellbeing. His model, Whiti Te Rā provides a guide for practitioners that responds to Māori aspirations and preferences for pathways to wellbeing. McLachlan's work emphasises the importance of not only promoting traditional pathways, but actively developing these pathways locally so whānau can access them.

Our other featured researchers bring diverse subjects illustrating the breadth and depth of health and wellbeing research across the Te Pūkenga network, including:

Please share this pānui with your colleagues and external stakeholders, and encourage them to subscribe.

Ngā mihi nui,
Lotta Bryant
Co-ordinator, Research Futures: Health and Wellbeing Working Group.
