A big thank you from your PTA.
What a year!
The PTA this year has had a successful run with regular sausage sizzles each term which has meant we have been able to purchase custom-made scooter racks to replace the outdated ones. There will be 2 new ones seen at the start of term 1 next year for the tamariki to more effectively store their scooters in. We are also looking at replacing the bike racks for next year as well.
The recent pub quiz was a great success as well and much fun was had by all, especially those who came away from the night with incredible prizes, which we were able to gift due to our generous donation from local businesses and families. We even managed to hold a raffle which was a complete sell-out! We raised $1647 for the night's efforts. This is going to be spent replacing the sports uniforms which are very outdated and threadbare. If the funds allow, we will also be using the money to pay for HVS Branded Flags to represent our wonderful Tamariki at sporting, cultural, and other events.
Looking ahead to next year, we are hoping to create more social events, after-school play dates, games nights, etc. So watch this space for next year!
We, as the PTA are a group of 10 parents, all have children at the school, and all have other commitments/jobs, etc but are all in agreement that we want to be involved to do whatever we can to aid our children while in their primary years at school. Whether that be coming to regular term meetings or volunteering for singular events, we are involved to varying degrees depending on how our lives are planned for that point in time. If anyone would like to become involved with the PTA, on any kind of level please sing out. We are very low-key, very open, and could always use more hands to help!
Without the help and support of the community, businesses, and HVS whānau we could not do these extra things for our school so a big thank you to those of you who continue to offer guidance, help, and support.
I would personally like to address each of the 'main PTA' for their efforts this year: Monique St John, Amy Perrem, Laura Somers Edgar, Tima Lilo, Shannon Horn, Jayde Smith, Lucy Due, Liz Calvert, and Sinead Lockett. Without their commitment to being a member of the PTA, we would quite literally be non-existent.
Thanks again and have a wonderful, safe, and happy Christmas.
