Gemma Greenwood is the Public Health Nurse connected to our Heathcote Valley School community. She can provide you with confidential and free nursing support.

The Public Health Nursing Service can provide support for any health needs such as:

  • wetting and/or soiling
  • hygiene and/or headlice
  • nutrition concerns
  • sleep issues
  • inadequate management of diagnosed conditions such as asthma, eczema.

How can Public Health Nurse support your family?

  • Meet with you at home/school/workplace/café to talk about how to manage your children’s health problems in a way that suits your family, and work with you while you get sorted
  • Liaise with school staff to provide continuity between home and school
  • Attend health appointments with you and your child to support you to have your questions answered.
  • Support teachers to manage your child’s health issue during the school day by providing advice and support
  • Access further support with your consent and follow through to make sure that you get the support that you need

As a registered nurse, Gemma works in accordance with the Nursing Council of New Zealand guidelines regarding professional standards and the sharing of information.
